Just so you know, the 9th grade class officers and a few other volunteers will be selling pizza and drinks on Thursday, December 8th, 2011, during an audition workshop. This is a PTSA-sponsored sale, so 100% of profits made from this sale will go directly to us, the 9th grade class.
This should help us significantly in our endeavor.
INFO ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: The audition workshop lasts from 5 to 7 pm. Volunteers will meet me in front of the Multi-purpose room by 3 pm (that day is also an early release day), where we will set up signs and coolers, etc. By 4:30 pm, the pizza will arrive and so will the parents and students. We will continue selling drinks and pizza until 7pm, which is when the audition workshop ends; the volunteers will need to be picked up promptly by 7 pm. All volunteers will have pizza to eat, courtesy of the PTSA. YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS volunteering during the pizza and soda sales, given that you sign in and out on a volunteer log that I will provide on that day.
I will try to contact the PTSA soon, to ask about a few details.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE ABOVE, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT SCHOOL. I may have about 2 spots (as always, we need backups) available. We'll see. But, you receive community service hours for helping the 9th grade class (YOU) raise much-needed funds and you get to socialize with 8th graders. Doesn't that sound enticing?
So, talk to me if you're interested.
Thanks as always.
PROGRESS: We have about $100 of our $1,000 goal.
We will be accepting voluntary donations in the meantime. Keep up the peppy, generous holiday spirit- voluntary donations would be greatly appreciated. Drop them off with either the treasurer or me, the class president.
ALSO: I will be sending out parental donation forms and envelopes soon. We will be asking a few 9th grade parents (for those who are in an economically feasible position) to make a donation to the 9th grade class. Voluntary donations are very valuable to us as of now.
P.S.: Thank you, Erica. I read your comment about recycling old cellphones and ink and toner cartridges. That sounds like a possible idea...we'll talk.
